Fast-Track Booking and Entry Procedures for Minor Group Travelers to the Palace Museum During the 2025 Winter Vacation
1. Tour groups organized by legally registered institutions with minors accounting for at least 85 percent of the booking party may apply for fast-track group bookings one to six days in advance by emailing yycg@dpm.org.cn. Tickets for accompanying adults must be reserved separately. The email application must specify the time slot requested for the adult tickets.
2. Each email application may only include one group of minors, and must include the following completed documents:
Group Visit Application Form (Appendix 1)
List of Visitors (Appendix 2)
Letter of Commitment (Appendix 3)
3. The Palace Museum limits the number of minor group admissions to 200 each day. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis according to the time of email receipt. Applicants will be notified of the result by email.
4. For safety reasons, each group may include up to 30 minors, and the ratio of adults to minors must be no more than 1:10. The total number of people in a group may not exceed 35. This adult-to-minor ratio will be verified during admission. Groups not meeting the requirements will be denied entry.
5. On the day of the visit, the group leader must bring original hard copies—signed and stamped—of the Group Visit Application Form, List of Visitors, and Letter of Commitment (matching the email reservation) to Ticket Window No. 8 on the west side of Duanmen Square to complete check-in.
6. With the approved List of Visitors and the entry pass received at the ticket window, minor groups may use the fast-track entrance at the Meridian Gate (Wu men). During peak hours, a dedicated entrance for minor tour groups will be available.
7. If the actual group members on the day of the visit do not match the List of Visitors submitted in the application, the Palace Museum reserves the right to deny entry and cancel the organization’s eligibility for winter break group reservations in 2025.
8. All minor tour groups must follow the Palace Museum’s Visitor Guidelines and Prohibited Items for Visitors to the Palace Museum, and comply with staff instructions on site. Any violation may result in denial of entry and cancellation of future group visit privileges during the 2025 winter vacation.
9. These measures will be in effect from January 20 to February 16, 2025. The Palace Museum will begin accepting group booking applications on January 16, 2025.
